brand portrait
Radical ideas. Timeless forms.
The Italian design brand Zanotta has stood for visionary furniture design since 1954, combining innovation, culture and a touch of irony. Many of its creations by renowned designers are now considered timeless icons and are exhibited in international museums.
Zanotta is one of the most important Italian design brands and has shaped the international design scene since its founding in 1954 by Aurelio Zanotta. Originally specialising in bespoke upholstered furniture, the company evolved into a producer of iconic objects for the home, designed by influential figures such as Achille Castiglioni, Gae Aulenti and Ettore Sottsass.
Zanotta sees design as a field for experimentation with new ideas and ways of living. Early collaborations with avant-garde designers made the brand an important driving force behind Italian Radical Design in the 1960s and 1970s. Many of its creations are now regarded as classics of modern furniture design, representing a distinctive blend of innovation, cultural ambition and Italian craftsmanship.
Numerous products have received international awards, including several Compasso d’Oro prizes. All production takes place in Italy, with a continuous focus on material quality and sustainable processes.
